I see many of you continued to visit anyway, and I thank you.

Last week I lost my father. He was 83 years old and died of multiple problems, but primarily lung cancer that had been undetected by the doctors until it was stage 4. It was called COPD and other such problems.

There have been too many losses in my life the past couple of years!!!

BUT...the one loss I am grateful for is my divorce is finally over after 2 years of craziness!! No matter what the ex and his attorney did, I continued on....and in the end its ok. I was awarded anything that was of any value including the house and contents.

So now I pick up once again and move on. The pond is flourishing (see older posts for when it was built). I will be posting new pictures soon if I can remember how to do it!!!! The tadpoles I put in the first summer are now very noisy frogs that entertain me and make me laugh when nothing else can.

Be back soon!!!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-44653553144735247142010-06-14T06:29:00.000-07:002010-06-14T06:32:30.009-07:00To My Friend.........<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 320px; height: 226px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEghVJ2vYufl_s8lBb_TYJ8MOsbiRgmS57lQA7pJdyg3q1_cfdmS5CjEG27-BUNnacTeNtParP6uLc2OMg5ePkCz50zToL0QQh8LCLcX8wf5qMM78WXy90BXI79B7eFcvGjPityKWZwXEd4/s320/IMG_0029.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5482621227898905954" />

I met Pat many years ago, back in 1976 when we both lived in the same apartment complex. Our daughters, Patti, Mindy and Kris were 'partners in crime' and played together, fought with each other, and got in trouble together more times than I want to remember. Pat use to sit on her deck and laugh at me chasing my dog across the complex when he got loose. He always went straight to the duck pond and then I'd have to try to get him out and drag him home. We use to go to the Ann Arbor Farmers Market together on Saturday mornings and split the cost of a whole pumpkin pie, we both were really struggling back then. From that time on, Pat always requested my pumpkin pie when she visited. I'll miss those visits.

Over the years we shared a lot of laughter, tears ideas and plans. I will miss the yearly email in the fall when she'll ask me if I 'smell Fall coming yet'...Pat loved Fall and always had the gourds on the table and the pumpkin on the porch. I will miss her asking me if I made Mexican Wedding cakes for Christmas this year (by the way, that is MY recipe she used...HA HA). This summer she won't be telling me about her blue morning glories, something else we both loved, but I will plant double in her memory, along with purple iris that she also loved. I'll miss our yearly Christmas ornament swap at Christmas, but will cherish the many she sent me over the years.

We use to laugh about sitting in our wooden rockers together 'when we got old' , on the front porch of a log cabin, something we both wanted. In fact, we use to build log cabins out of the Lincoln Logs I still have, and will keep always. We shared a love of quilting and sewing, although Pat was much more prolific than me.

In the 34 years that I had the honor of calling her my best friend, we never had an argument or a cross word between us. That is truly a rare thing.

I will miss you forever my friend, keep the coffee pot on and wait for me.

There will never be another Pat.terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-7451410460774537082010-01-09T08:58:00.001-08:002010-01-09T09:02:28.825-08:00A Snowy Evening<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 300px; height: 400px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEi9XSdO1rAC_st4UHOcqYJHYsmgA7jitS83h46sT8MnuK4luU7vcbOGXoCohsnjcOMSkeyZjAoNkChDbgsHUWc0ySBZVJW14v8DpWmdQ0NQp_VbLk-uEX6hn7ZDm4SXSmdrLgvqD2MIHQ4/s400/IMG_0617.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424786456556954498" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiugmAa50DytxAOPCBlyxlljuWzJWKP0M8u3FjpZY1DcC9DyBfLFXj1HjRBczQ2G4WPmSfJmYpoQJIH0hdVNIhcPGtkGAYAFMcrqitSia0r5DWTZjm0_NtLY1WIAcoNu8YmJpdqw7XPpjQ/s400/IMG_0609.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424786453382153154" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 400px; height: 300px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEieNAq3u9tQcEJvhzBSg9sSZq4Za_SoAVk5f2V11537-ks4VH2GWbt2v_hUyUaiunXlfs0K_X7zmVumq_yJYnjaNLaie0GOkw5gwbu_ifssg2zwlj90If2MIz-JnVTc-B5l8ygFkau4E-I/s400/IMG_0613.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5424786450342954706" />
Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening

by Robert Frost

Whose woods these are I think I know.
His house is in the village, though;
He will not see me stopping here
To watch his woods fill up with snow.

My little horse must think it queer
To stop without a farmhouse near
Between the woods and frozen lake
The darkest evening of the year.

He gives his harness bells a shake
To ask if there is some mistake.
The only other sound's the sweep
Of easy wind and downy flake.

The woods are lovely, dark, and deep,
But I have promises to keep,
And miles to go before I sleep,
And miles to go before I sleep.

I have once again been away from my blog for far too long. I am just now slowing down long enough to take a deep breath and enjoy the winter.

In the middle of all of this holiday frenzy, I had a huge personal crisis to deal with as many of you know, and that also was quite consuming in many ways. Thank all of you who have emailed and asked where are the posts and pictures and they miss me!!
Summer was hectic, plus the added responsibility of the pond, so there was little blogging time. Ponds are far more work than one can imagine! I still love it tho, and don't regret having it built. The fish are growing at an amazing rate, especially the koi...they have doubled in size in a very short time. The plants flourished, and wouldn't you know, the cala lillies are rooted and doing well, just in time to be uprooted and taken inside for the winter. The temperature of the water dropped 20 degrees in two weeks and the fish have slowed down and eat very little now. It is netted to keep leaves and walnuts out..which was a major undertaking.
The leaves are turning, there has been frost and it is officially Autumn here in Indiana. The Halloween decorations are up inside and out, and I'm excited as I love Halloween.
I had my birthday in September although I won't divulge which one it was, and recieved so many cards, emails,phone calls and hugs I was overwhelmed. Thank you all. I recieved gifts from my 'friends I've never met'...both Canadian and Scottish.
I am preparing to open my Etsy shop and have my wonderful banner created, thanks to Big Brown Dog graphics in Tennessee. I will be posting a link to her. Any of you who want graphics for a blog, Etsy, website or Ebay..contact her, she's amazing!!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-53454533664980564322009-08-05T14:13:00.000-07:002009-08-05T14:21:04.823-07:00Storm Damage

Yesterday was not a good day!!! In addition to a sink that had been stopped up for three days (and trying to avoid a plumber) I awoke to thunder, lightening and hail, which really scares my dogs, so I had to get up early and deal with that. One storm after another went thru all morning, and around noon the Big One hit. It rained so hard I couldn't see out the second floor windows and there were huge down drafts of wind. I could see leaves and limbs flying by but little else. Then the power went out.
GREAT!
I spent the next 5 hours trying to think of something to do that didn't involve electricity. It was dark and gloomy, so couldn't see much inside. Then the power returned, I decided to run to the store only to be faced with the damage in these pictures. My block was 'ok', my phone lines were hit and all my phones are dead (thank goodness I unplugged the computers and phone line to it). My pond is a mess, but an hour or work fixed it back nice. This damage is serious....and its only ONE BLOCK FROM ME!!! I certainly got lucky and decided I'd quit fussing so much about mud, leaves and no power!! Every street pretty much has one or more downed trees across it. Power and other utility companies are all over the neighborhood and chain saws are running until dark.
The brick Victorian in the picture is one of the oldest houses and one of the first houses built in my neighborhood, it dates to around 1874....and one storm did this!!
I am so lucky!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-88055540785841207882009-07-27T19:26:00.000-07:002009-07-27T19:43:04.118-07:00The Pond is Finished!!

I can finally breathe a sigh of relief...the pond is finished. I have nice, balanced water, koi and goldfish, Texas bullfrog tadpoles and plants....and I can enjoy it.
I spent most of last Friday IN the pond building some more rock ledges, a couple of tunnels for the fish and an 'island' in the center to put more plants upon. It was nice and cool in there and once I got use to the fish 'bumping' me it was fun. My ever faithful companion, Lennie, sat in the bog and watched all of this. He's always loved water and if he were younger and didn't have the bad leg, I know he would have been in there with me. I planted water iris, miniature cat tails, calla lily, pitcher plant, rushes, bog hawthorne, four leaf clovers and anchored a couple of water lilies which are now blooming. I also weighted down some parrot feather that grows under water. For fun, I put the ugly bullfrog on the rock...it belonged to my grandmother that I was so close to and even tho its really not that pretty, I smile everytime I look at it and think about her.
For those who want statistics...the pond is 9ft.x 22ft. (water size) with a double falls. It is 2.5 feet deep in one end and 3.5' in the other with a large cave for the fish to hide in. It has bog ledge all the way around and a 3ft.x4ft. bog by the falls. It holds around 4400 gallons of water.
I still need to do planting around it, and will do a little this year to 'hold' the soil, but most will be next spring. I also will be adding more plants on the ledges and in the bog next year when the selection is better in the Spring. I may also add a brick terrace next to it. So come on over and join me, I have fresh lemonade.terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-92171893953676572552009-07-21T10:41:00.000-07:002009-07-21T10:45:56.061-07:00Pond Day 3...I Have Water!!

After a long wait, I have water!!! And a falls that sounds just wonderful. I wish I could record it for all of you to hear...its so peaceful and I can hear it in the house. Darryl (the owner of Aquatic Designs) built the pond ledges, bogs and falls all by himself one stone at a time. He is an artist and perfectionist and I can't say enough about the professionalism and talent he has. He would stop patiently at any time to explain things to me...and always said "ask questions and keep calling us if you have a question". He would point to a rock and the 2 helpers would lug them over to him...one at a time. There is far more to building a pond than I ever imagined, if its done correctly. He used his calculator to figure the amount of water in the pond, vs. the GPH, plus the height of the falls to figure out the sound!!!! I was astonished. He also figured how many 'inches of fish' my pond would nicely support to keep the eco system intact. AMAZING!! My next post will be of the finished pond, sans landscaping, a few inhabitants and my thoughts on the experience. The landscaping will be ongoing....I'm waiting for my first shipment of plants to arrive via FedEx today!!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-47592885485872914802009-07-16T21:38:00.000-07:002009-07-16T21:43:48.023-07:00Pond Day 2

When I awoke they were already working!! Thats a nice surprise after some of the construction people I've had working here on other projects. They dug a bit more and terraced in the areas for ledges of rocks for the fish to hide under, the next level has gravel for a 'bog' area plus a large bog on one end. They also dug and installed both the filter and the falls pumps and the pipe that runs between them. Then tamped it all down hard. Next came the underliner and then the liner which was quite heavy, it took all of them to carry it and spread it out. Then the designer, Daryl, who thus far pretty much just supervised, started placing rocks. He pointed, they brought them and he placed. In one picture you can see him standing back and thinking about what to do next on the falls. Also in one picture you can see the lazer level tool they used and the orange marks on the ground where everything is to be placed. Before they left they put a little water in the bottom to protect the liner if critters with claws got in.terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-3512326607201980502009-07-15T16:03:00.000-07:002009-07-15T16:19:08.499-07:00

The pond men finally showed up last week after many cancellations due to bad weather. I honestly didn't know what to expect except a lot of dirt and rocks! First, the 'foreman' who you will see in the pictures sitting a lot, and I marked out and discussed basically what I wanted and didn't want. We had already agreed upon a price for the basic size and shape I had in mind. We discussed the waterfall and what I expected. I wanted a good sound, and it to look natural. I also requested a lot of 'bog' area for planting and that one end be 2 feet and the other 3'. Then I left them alone to work. I couldn't believe they dug by hand.....well two of them did. I also was amazed at the tools used, something like surveyors tools. I had to go out and check out all of this and he explained that it has to be level in all directions, etc. (I would have just started digging..LOL). There was far more to it than I realised. He said 70% of their business is correcting ponds built by homeowners and enlarging ponds that are already built. He told me I was wise in going all out in the beginning. I also couldn't believe they carted all those big rocks in by wheelbarrow...one load at a time!! By the end of the day I really thought the hole looked a lot like Big Foot had been in my backyard.

Come back in a few days for day 2!!

terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-16114322044347295022009-07-07T16:38:00.000-07:002009-07-07T16:45:37.537-07:00Victorian Dollhouse

My grandaughter Meredith keeps prodding me to "paint the little house" and I keep putting it off. It literally is gathering dust and the roof fell apart before I got it out of the basement. Then another 'friend I haven't met' from a social forum inspired me by spending her vacation doing her dollhousel. Ok, you two, you win!!

So now I've ordered shingles, special glue, gingerbread trim, brick for the foundation and a treadle sewing machine (which has nothing to do with construction but it was CUTE). I have the feeling this is the beginning of an addiction. But Meredith and I will have fun!!! She likes to write so I think I'm going to encourage her to make up a history of the house and stories about who lives there and what they do.

I'm looking for color suggestions to paint it. I want something Victorian....at least 3 colors. Please post any ideas!!!

terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-40372557537536121362009-07-04T13:36:00.000-07:002009-07-04T13:37:20.226-07:00

terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-28759415624838330192009-07-03T11:46:00.000-07:002009-07-03T11:56:24.859-07:00HAPPY JULY 4th!!

After many years of wanting to see the Navys Blue Angels I finally went!! Every year seems something came up that prevented me from going. It was always something. This year I was determined that no matter what, I would be there.
Although I had a pinched nerve in my back, poison ivy and knew I'd be sunburned even with sunscreen, I ventured out in over 90 degree heat to the airshow.
When they did their first fly over I was on my feet and didn't sit down the entire show. AMAZING!! They sort of 'sneak up' on the crowd, very quiet, then the sound catches up with them and they add to it with colored smoke and the spectacle begins. Just when you think you can't be any more impressed, they prove you wrong.
I felt such pride in our armed services that they could produce such talented people to do these maneuvers. Barrel rolls, straight dives toward the ground, pulling out at the last minute, flying in formation with wings almost touching. I could go on and on.........
I'll admit, I was so impressed I teared up. This is the garden of another 'friend I've never met' from the internet forums. Her name is Debbie and she and her dear husband have created a wonderful, creative setting around their home. Debbie is a crafter and created the stained glass and some of the other decor. The 'watchcat' in the pictures is Buttons, age 19.

I have posted a few pictures and if you click on the link below you can see the entire slideshow. Occasionally we do 'swaps'. Recently I participated in a 'folk bird' swap and decided to take the birds I recieved, plus a couple from an earlier swap, and make a wreath. My door was looking a little boring and I thought it would be the perfect thing for summer.
Pictured, starting clockwise from the top....White dove by Linda Matson of Coram, NY, painted red bird from Donna Anderson of British Columbia, Canada,the next two birds are by me, the black wool bird is by D.Huffman from a 2007 swap,the bluebird is by Rhonda Smith of Newton Falls, OH and the bird in the center made from an old flag was made by Kim Lance in the 2007 swap. Birds I recieved but didn't use on the wreath are on windowsills, tabletops and other places of love in my house. Thank you to all of these talented women for being a source of constant friendship and support.terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-4296063704591989442009-06-11T11:55:00.000-07:002009-06-11T12:39:37.935-07:00<img style="display:block; I've had a lot of people ask me about the area and to post pictures.
Woodruff Place is a wonderful old neighborhood on Indianapolis' east side. It was founded in the 1870's and was added to the National Registry of Historic Places in 1972. It had sunken to decline in the 1960's and many of the houses were divided into apartments, etc. The area had a bad reputation. In the early 70's what we like to call 'urban homesteaders' discovered this beautiful old neighborhood and moved in slowly. For the most part the houses are quite large and it has taken a lot of time, patience, hard work and money to reclaim them. Today the neighborhood is bustling and most houses have been redone.
The area is small, 3 streets running north and south and one running east and west. A special committee of home owners have 'adopted' the medians that run down each street and have restored the fountains, iron urns and statues to their once beautiful state. The streets are lined with magnolia and oak trees and there are numerous private gardens around the homes.
Those of us who love historic areas are so glad to see this work being accomplished!!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-58983201922732965812009-05-30T15:30:00.000-07:002009-05-30T15:36:08.651-07:00<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjc3Dxbbc4EkwxtRVUu4MngnJVl931wUUaVK03XFsZFazmXHB1RWnkvAZN71b0B3ZCf_dRN5VEqvR6_X1MjfWN4J8J7UNmG7Wv-bZILMfQetRQq_xsp2hfJtRs8QSBsdpylcyRovwbaLxg/s200/bag+011.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341749447526478146" />
<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 200px; height: 150px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiU4ATqwikvzLmcI2Jsg5KOtCO24UFHXLrtO-mfcJCg2r1uD-nAw7d3jeQyMgxvqHZb6xiBXA7HOf0P147nqlHoPkQa62CCbUaT4IlL3NHbZPrLV9Z3knPCI3VVKugji7pNO-LL5yFrQLE/s200/bag+010.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5341749088510805282" />

I am lucky enough to be friends with some truly wonderful and talented people on line. Most of us have never met each other but talk almost every day. We become like sisters. We share laughs, tears, prayers.......and sometimes trade pieces of our work. I will post pictures from these swaps as we call them from time to time. This pinkeep was made by Barbara Pyatt of Cabin in the Woods of Warrrensville North Carolina. Isn't it wonderful? I'm going to keep it next to my sewing machine and actually use it!!! My first impression was to 'keep it for good' on a tabletop. NO!! I'm going to use it an enjoy it and hopefully let it inspire me!

Thank you Barbaraterriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-16309713837490049832009-05-23T13:13:00.000-07:002009-05-23T19:52:14.630-07:00Memorial Day Thoughts<img style="display:block; margin:0px auto 10px; text-align:center;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 126px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjg_wXzcYyfSRydOcsjLGZUyRP6uWMmtur0JEEnDypnrrmwoyBN2f_B4D8WldsgbnXZJ5ck-QKXKwNTzLqLYpEmGYy6_fhQFD5hZfW-TOy1lovQXnZN5v3PcMSQE1DqKiCCiTFiIOyTyw0/s200/memorialday2.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5339119284781813954" />

Today I want to remember all those who have fought for our freedoms with pride and unselfishness. Those who returned, those who returned crippled and maimed and those who were sworn at and spit upon. You will always be honored in my heart and in my home. There is no gift greater than freedom, and you have given it to your country and to countries and citizens around the world.
There are so many now who don't understand patriotism, the allegiance to a flag and country. I feel sorry for those people. They will never know the thrill of a military march in a parade when it sends chills to your very soul...and they will never understand why it does that. On the other hand they probably won't ever stand at a grave site and watch the flag being folded and handed to a widow, or the playing of taps or a 21 gun salute.
So today I want to say a huge thank you to those who have returned, those who are serving, those who lie peacefully in the arms of God now whether unknown or named.
And to a couple of special people in my life, I want to say 'Semper Fi'terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-13092620645598007102009-05-07T19:25:00.000-07:002009-05-07T19:45:43.882-07:00Remembering Grandma This Mothers Day<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;width: 150px; height: 200px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiHGnq4HierdBDf9FgEBviR4qmUq-AmyGU0MAJAN7890cAMW1SituN7ivV5PS9nFwNti58zRk5KjdCVb5-AFNaBBYsJ8Q4ueBQONXXVnsdJSSgkj89sOAAKfB2F67N_k5V3VF0VJ7d16vc/s200/cow033.jpg" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5333273807202040306" />

With Mothers Day approaching I count myself lucky to still have both my parents alive, I am one of the few people in my age group that does. Mom is 81 and in fragile health. I will be visiting her.
While there I will be taking flowers to my paternal grandmother, Nettie, who is buried in Rose Hill Cemetary. I can remember her taking me to that cemetary 50 years ago on Memorial Day, there would be music by Veterans groups, flags on all the graves of servicemen, and lots and lots of real flowers, this was long before artificial flowers. There was a beautiful limestone fountain as tall as a house that a brass band would stand near and play. She would tell me with pride how her father (my great grandfather) helped build that fountain as he was a limestone carver. Grandma always decorated every family grave that she knew existed. Now there is only me to do this, as I'm the one who grew up to be interested in geneology. Grandma gave me more than this gift of family and history. She bought me Barbie when they first arrived in stores, and later Chatty Cathy, who I still have. My first bike, numerous party dresses, and formals. All sorts of advice, which I thought silly at times but cherish now. She showed me a strong woman who survived the Depression, divorce, cancer (3 times!!)and whatever life threw at her. I inherited her ability to 'cook from scratch', win an arguement, and raise flowers of all kinds.In the picture above she was 12 years younger than I am now...that is me hanging on to her. I was always close to her, perhaps moreso than my own mother.
She died at age 88 and was buried the day I found out I would have my first grandaughter. Oh how she would love her and her sister. I hear myself sounding like her many times now and silently laugh to myself. I miss her so. Happy Mothers Day Grandma, hope you like the flowers.terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com8tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-43246172525577847112009-04-29T12:00:00.000-07:002009-04-29T12:01:34.348-07:00A Favorite QuoteI haven't had very much blogging time available to me lately, but wanted to pass on one of my favorite quotes to all my friends out there who are artists or aspire to be:

He who works with his hands is a laborer. He who works with his hands and his head is a craftsman. He who works with his hands and his head and his heart is an artist. Or is it I'm not suppose to do the work? Either way, its not getting done. My grandaughter has discovered my blog and loves the squirrels, she sent me some pictures today and I told her I'd post one. She just thinks this is too cool!! Actually, I had a picture like this of one of the squirrels that lives around my backyard, but lost it when my old computer crashed.

Meredith, this post is for you....love you!!terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3964271129823899082.post-46529723597790353802009-04-15T15:38:00.000-07:002009-04-15T15:45:01.954-07:00Where My Work Has Been SoldI've had questions from several people asking where my work could be seen or purchased. I visited my elderly parents yesterday and stopped in a wonderful nursery there. The annual house smelled like heaven!! The alyssum is so fragrant. I bought black and pink hollyhokes to start them along the fence again. I think I'll try growing gourds this year, the egg size ones to make birds. I'm still thinking about a large pond too!! I loved playing with the frogs in Clear Creek yesterday, that may be incentive enough!! Anyone want to go frog catching??terriermamahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/13898426339213858554noreply@blogger.com8
